Well, I've been meaning to update for a while, but I've been so busy! Especially with school. In Literature, I have to write an essay analyzing a poem from one one of the authors we've read so far, and then find Literary criticism to support it. Lucky me, we read T.S. Elliot's the Hollow Man. I liked the poem alot, but decided to find a new one for my project. I found one of the Four Quartets, called "East Coker". If you love poetry, or if you're a writer, or if you're just bored, you HAVE to read it. Its is possibly the most amazing poem I've ever read by a published author. Unfortunatly, it took me 5-10 reads to understand it.
In other news, this month is National Poetry Month. Who knew? I just figured it out a couple days ago. But luckily, I've been celebrating it the whole time. I came up with a project that has me writing a poem a day for month, even if I don't want to. Yay for forced creativity!! I've missed a few days, but I still have to make them up by the end of the month. I'll put them up soon, so look out for the "Forces of April" portfolio.
Well, if you didn't already know, I got sucked into the vortex of Twilight fans(by Stephenie Meyer). I've already finished all 3, but I haven't been participating in the online phenomina(Sp?). So I tried it out. I found a border's book clun interview with the author. It is absolutly amazing!! The video takes a while, but it definatly has re-sparked my Twilight intrest. Which gives me an excuse to put up "Chapter 23". Before you look at it, its a poem not a chapter

There will be a history on the poem's page, but if your wondering about the tie-in, I wrote it after reading Chapter 23 of Elcipse. Maybe it'll make sense only if you read it; again, who knows?
Thirdly(yes, I like to write alot), my school expects people to be sending in poems and short stories by May 9th. So I'm holding an unofficial poll for which poems my DA pals think will make the school's literary magazine cut, and which ones they like the best. I know I don't exactly have fans, 'cause I suck, but if you like one of my poems a real lot, just nore me, or comment this journal.
Well, thanks for listening to me babble. Hopefully I'll go listen to someone else babble now as karma. Yay, Karma!!

But most of the time, I scan at least at 100 dpi (dots per inch, which determines how clear and detailed you want the scan to be) to about 300 dpi. You can also typically choose what setting you want it at: grayscale, black and white, full color, etc.
Just play around with it for a little while and see what each setting does and which works best for you.
Have fun! And let me know how it goes! If you have any questions on it, I'm sure you can find someone who has the same type of scanner who can give you some better answers.
